SNOWMAN DIY | ART AND CRAFT
Since Sunday the 2nd of January, our children have had to go back to 100% online learning. With these changes we understand that it can often be a challenge for them to remain occupied and active.
As we approach the colder months, we believe integrating some DIY art and craft activities with the winter season is a great way to keep our little ones busy and to continue to provide them with some hands on activities. With the ongoing pandemic, ensuring our families remain safe, it is recommended we limit our interactions with others as much as we can.
Therefore doing a DIY activity that can be completed indoors is a great option. Creating a DIY project with just a few necessary materials..many of which are reusable from supplies around the house is a great way to educate the children on the importance of reducing carbon footprints whilst completing a crafty seasonal activity!
So let's get started!
Toilet paper roll
One pipe cleaner
Two googly eyes
How to make the Snowman toilet roll:
Paint two coats of white paint onto the toilet paper roll and leave aside to dry.
Take some black paper and cut out the shape of a hat. Make sure it fits the sizing of the toilet roll so that it is not too big or too small.
Once the toilet roll is dry, glue the hat on, and the goggly eyes.
Draw an orange carrot shape nose on the snowman toilet roll.
Use a pencil or some scissors and punch one hole either side of the roll approx. half way down the roll.
Feed the pipe cleaner through these holes for the snowman's arms and bend it around so it resembles wooden sticks for the snowman hands.
Finish up the snowman design by drawing on any additional details including buttons and the snowman's mouth.
Please do make sure to send us any finished designs through our social media pages! We would love to see them.
