Simple & Easy Cakes for Kids to Make | Rice Krispies

This recipe is very straightforward, simple and safe for children to make, under supervision of course (age-depending). Other than using the microwave, there will be no use of the cooker, hob, knives or dangerous utensils. These little Rice cakes are also somewhat relatively healthy and can be made using alternative ingredients such as honey or dark chocolate to make the assembling ingredients more health friendly.

Rice Krispies contain 15% of the NRV for Vitamin D, which contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and a healthy lifestyle.


  • 60g of unsalted butter

  • 3 tablespoons of golden syrup

  • 1 x 100g bar of milk chocolate (can use dark or white chocolate)

  • 90g of Rice Krispies


  1. Melt the chocolate in small bursts in the microwave.

  2. Add the butter, cut in to small pieces, and stir in till melted.

  3. Add the syrup, and stir.

  4. Add the Rice Krispies and stir in to the chocolate mix, gently

  5. Spoon in to 12 bun cases

  6. Leave to cool

  7. Decorate how you would like! Why don’t you add in some mini marshmallows or Cadbury mini-eggs?
