International Women’s Day| March 8th, 2022
Women’s Day is coming up next week and we would like to get our students involved with this as much as possible.
International Women’s day has a purpose of celebrating women’s achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality. The women’s right movement is the focal point of this and in certain countries around the world it is truly growing with importance.
The purpose of this day is to examine the opportunities and constraints of being a women, whilst also empowering women and girls to have a voice and be equal players to men in a world of bias.
We want to know what International Women’s Day means to you.
Throughout the school week, next week, our social media team will plan to approach some KS4 girls and teachers for a brief video recording asking them what International Women’s Day means to them and who inspires them as a woman which will later be on our social platforms for our Edison Aspire community to see.
This small social project will help raise awareness of what International Women’s Day stands for between our school walls to create a knowledgeable environment where support for such movements is understood and appreciated.
If you are a student or teacher in our school and want to take part in this, please either contact us through our direct messages on social media or send an email to email@example.com.
